Located in the UK, approximately 110Km North East of London on the East Anglian coast, Pultrex specialise in the design and manufacture of pultrusion and filament winding machinery. Since the formation of the business in 1974, Pultrex have produced equipment for 603 installations in 37 countries, many of which operate in constant 24 hour per day production facilities and demand minimum equipment downtime.
The current Pultrex product range embodies over 30 years design experience within high volume production composite environments. This unique design knowledge, coupled with Pultrex own 25 year experience in composite profile and component production, offers end users the reassurance of purchasing leading edge, highly efficient, top quality and reliable equipment
Pultrex market 6 standard pultrusion machines covering a range of pulling force options and production capacities: From 3 tonne x 250mm wide to 24 tonnes x 1300 mm wide, enabling the best match of machinery to requirement. Each machine incorporates innovative design features developed and proven from years of production experience, all combined with the latest CNC control system technologies.
Pultrex Filament Winding machinery is used in a wide range of industries particularly automotive, defence and aerospace. The modular design concept enables the manufacture of standard and special purpose machines to suit specific requirements.
One noteable development was a filament winding machine and process for over-wrapping of gas cylinders for Natural Gas and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. The process allowed for the use of many different types of fibres, the most common being glass, with carbon and aramid also possible.
Each filament winding machine is fully CNC controlled and can have between 2 & 6 axis of controlled motion. Multi spindle options are available, as is a range of fibre tension control and fibre heating options.
With the automotive, defence and aerospace industries demanding increased levels of process & quality control, Pultrex have developed and market software, control/data exchange techniques to enable full integration of their filament winding machinery into individual customer ERP and production control systems.
